If Hudson Yards had to follow Jacksonville's parking requirements, the surface parking lot would take 180 city blocks or 11.5 Disneylands. It would displace 150,000 residents and 206,000 jobs and would take 52 minutes to walk across from end to end.

@the_transit_guy cars are horribly wasteful but we're trapped by a whole bunch of ratchets + already-in-power political groups to keep using them in most places and that sucks
