Democracies need tigers. I have always believed this.

This causes minor discomfort for the parts of my identity that are organized around tolerance, forgiveness, and healing, but so what. That's a "me" problem.

Embodiment? You think medical embodiment is the refuge of a metaphysical ground of self? Your sense of embodiment is something you got out of a medical dictionary, or worse, the medieval equivalent of a medical dictionary that was translated by an isolated Buddhist monk trying to fix his meditation posture and then mis-translated and spiritualized by a late-colonial German and taken up by a bunch of hippies in the postwar period.

In The Republic, Plato is famously willing to rewrite the eikon mythos so that the status-seeking (thymotic) part of humanity will be in an organic, supportive relationship with the rational part of the sovereign (whether psyche or polis).

Later on, in the thrall of the Pythagoreans, Plato was also willing to dispense with ordinary language in favor of abstract number as a purer handmaiden to the eikon logos. As he wrote, "He who is without mathematics shall not enter."

We all remember September 11, and how it changed the world forever.

At the world's first conference on AI in 1956, Allan Newell explained how how Logic Theorist was capable of proving theorems from the Principia Mathematica; immediately after him, Noam Chomsky explained why behaviorist psychology was computationally incompatible with the basic tasks of grammatical language use.

Never forget!

People would rather believe in the strangest shit rather than accept that logic exercises non-efficient causality.
To get rid of the Heavens, Kant would tell you that all thought and experience are never accessed in-themselves, only vaporous interactions on the membrane between the two. Later materialists would try to convince you that causality is ineffable, or that you are not conscious, or that everything is just as conscious as a person. It gets quite silly.
