imo the strategy of "trust people/try to form a model of people's beliefs when they tell you how they think about the world" is very rationalist, a good way to identify new ideas, and also a surprisingly effective way to identify terrible people who shouldn't be in your movement.
@alexthecamel I think like this, because of my background in machine learning, manufacturing and accident investigation. Nothing seems to help me, because in my classes we studied the mistakes and shit-ass math of biology/health to expose the natural stupidity of the human being when trying to model reality to suit his wee-brained cowardice.
