I'm starting to think that making stone circles might fit into the "handax=nest" theory for humans.

People will just make stone circles, mounds, and piles if they have the material the way that birds make nests.

The patterns are deep in everyone's brain... same for the hand ax.

You think you don't know how to make a stone hand ax... but really you do... (this is based on a theory, not widely accepted about how early hominids were able to make so many hand axes.)

@futurebird I could never invent a hand axe. I'm just sitting here thinking "what if I had a fist that was like a claw" while idly knocking stones against stones.
