I know, I'm looking forward to 31st May next year when the 3rd extension of the trial period is supposed to come to an end!
I agree I can't see what another year of data will do. I'm a bit more optimistic though. I'm in Cambridge and the rental ones are widely used here, and from that guidance doc:

Which leaves me hopeful we're heading to a good outcome, if not as fast as I'd like.

Given what an utter mess the trial is, I'm not hopeful... The hodge podge approach has really regulated them out of any meaningful use case, at least in London. I can't really understand how another year of data could possibly help what must be an enormous sample size by now.
