I've been thinking about the Twitter-style QT social dynamics a bit, lately, obviously due to the fact that QT is discouraged on Mastodon. I'm so much more mindful of when I do QTs on Twitter -- I do it so much!

a QT is better than a link because people will often change the word they link with and so i end up reopening the same post several times
QT gives you an instant overview of the specifically relevant section
@AbstractFairy if two people both like Visa, they can quite likely be friends.
