Broke: western medieval artists were just bad at painting
Woke: western medieval artists purposefully stylized their art to help convey their message
Bespoke:

(Bolts awake) “rat avatar” is a palindrome

When I Bookmark something, it's just for me.

When I Like something, it's just for me and the person who made the post.

When I boost something, it's because I want to share it with others.

There's no software in the background recording and evaluating my behavior so it can decide the best ads to show me, and what I should see or not see in my feed to increase my engagement.

It's pretty nice not being the product anymore and just enjoying the web again.

democracy is when everyone gets to vote and if they vote for the wrong thing we just hold the election again until they vote for the right thing and if they don't vote for the right thing we just find a loophole that allows right thing to win even if it doesn't get any votes
"The manga is already very fun on its own, so at first, we had (Erika) Yoshida, who was in charge of series composition, focus on filling in the gaps between panels in a way that was logical and realistic. But as we progressed in writing the script, we came to realize that realism was not the only way to express the charms of the work. So in order to depict the energy of its comedic scenes and express the emotions of adolescent drama, we use methods and approaches exclusive to animation, as well as adding supplementary gags for connecting scenes with help from the manga staff."

@fluffy @Grandtheftautism @Terry Disputed elections have been happening for a long time. 1984 was the last US election I am aware of where the losing side accepted defeat.

In 1980 the Democrats made claims of media manipulation and the spoiler candidate

1988 - Lee Atwater and the whole Willie Horton thing plus Fox News emerging as a player

1992 - Republicans claim Ross Perot was run as a spoiler

1996 - Questions about fund raising practices by the Republicans against the DNC, also more Perot

2000 - The whole hanging chads/selected not elected thing

2004 - Both sides raised questions on results

2008 - Generally thought to be tricks in a number of states, although accepted Obama won

2012 - as 2008 above

2016 - The whole Russia hacked the election nonsense by Democrats

2020 - massive voter fraud in key states, stop the steal and J6 BS

I doubt the system will let election be held in 2024

Goddamned nerds stop asking be about the D&D open license thing. I don’t know about open licenses and also I am interested in REAL goddamn nerd stuff like whether there need to be more items in 5e that increase your spell DC because the vampires kept saving against my Sunbeam last night.

Gargron objectively did more harm to the fediverse by enabling automated block lists than quote replies could ever do.

My wife told me to take the spider out instead of killing him.

Went out. Had a few drinks. Nice guy. He's a web designer.

Specialises in debugging.

It's just dawned on me. The hyperlink is the greatest invention since computing as a whole. It's truly incredible that you can easily transverse swaths of information with a single click. Incredible that there are no silos. The dream behind the creation of the internet, through all the cruft, lives on.

Protip:

When designing a user interface, imagine some old woman using it, say Margaret Hamilton, and she's clicking your app's buttons and saying to you, as old people do,

"Young whippersnapper, when I was your age, I sent 24 people to the ACTUAL MOON with my software in 4K of RAM and here I am clicking your button and it takes ten seconds to load a 50 megabyte video ad and then it crashes

I'm not even ANGRY with you, I'm just disappointed."
