Yeah, unfollwing someone removes them from your lists.

What is this feature useful for then?

Do Mastodon lists do anything? Can you only put people you actively follow on lists? (That's unhelpful. I want to move people to lists to get them _off_ my default feed without losing them.)

Bob: We were using Angular, but we switched to React. But neither really give us what we need.

Alice: On my last project we had good results using Ligma.

People who have read/done _The Art Of Computer Programming_:

Is it worth getting the MMIX update, even though you now have to reference two books at once, or is the old MIX good enough?

Remember though, the COVID vaccines are only authorized for emergency use.

Divorce is when you now jointly own a house you can't live in with a person you hate.

When an idiot who can't manage their finances can still drag you down economically, but you don't get sex and cuddles and shared dreams anymore.

I'm sure Apple gets 30% of the $899 app cost, but do they also get 30% of the doctor's fee when he writes the prescription?

(This is the same logic they applied to Fortnite.)

Medical apps exist -> Every medical service _could_ be an in-app purchase.

Shit sometimes just doesn't work on my Employer Provided Laptop.

It might be because there's some kind of corporate spyware on there.

Why won't XDebug run? Why won't BrowserStackLocal run? I have no way to find out.

An important Twitter skill I've been trying to cultivate is learning to say, <I see that you don't understand what I'm saying, but I don't have the energy to figure out why right now, so I'm going to quit this conversation.>

*Eve searches Alice's purse and pulls out her driver's license.*

Eve: 1975! Ridiculous!

Alice: *panicking*. I'm over 40! My kids dismiss me with "OK, Boomer!"

Eve: I'm sorry, rules are rules.

Eve: Halt! Who are you who would enter the corridors of power?

Alice: Just an ordinary Boomer.

Eve: Oh yeah? Who was your favorite Beatle?

Alice: ... Ringo?

Eve: Another Generation Xer trying to sneak in, eh?

Watching Brits argue class identity politics on the timeline.

When someone asks <Why are you so interested in/obsessed with this> on Twitter, it means two things:

1. They're spoiling for a fight. (because)
2. They're culturally "left" and have decided that your interest is a fake way to inject "right" politics.

(Sometimes people take a question as an attack and attack in response. That sucks.)

Sometimes, other people offer related information. That's nice in a social sense, but often they aren't addressing the actual question, which is distressing.

I don't know why people do this. I probably do it too; I think it's an effect of Twitter.

When someone makes a factual claim that seems outrageous, I often ask how they know or what evidence they have.

They might be right! Counterintuitive facts exist, and this might be one. Sometimes I learn something.

Two handshakes, I'd guess, if I measure the community correctly. Three at most.
