It's absolutely amazing to see a clash between a person who's desperately hiding his ignorance and a person who's so in-control of the conversation that he's willing to run up the score like the Harlem Globetrotters.
You need to be Wes Anderson-maxxing. You need to be consumed by frivolous preoccupations that reflect both a deep personal need and a forgotten era of Americana. You need to be extremely direct in your communications, especially when you directly contradict yourself. You need to have bonds of either intense unspoken trust or inexpressable longing. Either way you don't say much.

Today I had an encounter with a complete boor who was being obnoxious in multiple modalities in a public space. I restrained myself from commenting and moved to the back corner. Then he stood up and I saw his ankle monitor. I was totally vindicated. Then his beautiful young lady appeared and threw herself into his arms and I decided I need to be a bit more perspicacious in my judgments.
I once listened to a one-hour remix of 14 avril at the same time as Richard Nixon's inaugural address, and now I like it so much I can't listen to 14 avril any other way.
