The single most user-hostile feature on #Mastodon seems to be following somebody who’s on a different instance when you’ve followed a link to their profile. Is anybody trying to improve that for “normal” people? I’m not talking about convenience tools for geeks, but usability for generic humans, so no bookmarklets, browser plugins or similar stuff please

@stilkov This is a technically hard problem because it's equivalent to cross-site tracking. I.e., separate servers all knowing the user's same identity. And browsers are working hard to make that impossible.
