when it's a lengthy run to get back to the boss room each time, you really try to maximize how much you're learning per attempt

and because you're actively engaged in studying the boss, the whole process feels better and more rewarding

it forces you to treat it seriously and think about it actively, as if you were reading a book or trying to understand a difficult concept more than playing a game. it tricks you into type 2 fun when you signed up for type 1 fun
