@alex sincere question: what's the need for Pleroma if Mastodon/GNU-social/etc already exist?

Is it just a specific implementation?

@ibeckermayer @alex I'd say yest on being more customizable. It being lighter on resources & configuring email is much easier are the 2 main things that initially had me switch from Mastodon. I'm currently only running a single user instance now, so the email side of things isn't really a deciding factor for me. But with the resources my VPS provides running Pleroma makes the other few things I am hosting easier.

i personally find it superior for this reason
