the hdmi-to-rca connector that we're using to run our salvalged TV (after both the HDMI ports died) finally bought it

opened it up, worked out that the 3.3V regulator seemed to be dead, salvaged one, replaced it... and turns out the no-name main IC is also dead

ah well
