I’m convinced duolingo intentionally sorts people into nice diamond and hell diamond because I see people post “diamond is crazy, I see people hitting 2000 xp” and meanwhile in hell diamond, first place has 21k xp and there are multiple people with 4k xp beneath the threshold

And no, I don’t think it has much to do with the time of day theory; I’m in hell diamond almost every week regardless of what time of day I join. When I’m not in hell diamond it’s weirdly quiet compared to what I’m used to

@0xabad1dea My experience matches this. I used to deliberately get in the 20-25th place range for several weeks at a row, then go hard for a week to win it; next week I would end up in a league where my "winning" score was median.
