@mint @Moon @coin I remember when people were fretting about open-source being used by defense contractors. I guess the pressure's off the war machine if people are now mostly worried that someone might use software to say mean words.
@p @coin @mint theres a minor movement to replace libre licenses with "ethical licenses" and it mostly seems to be driven by this

@Moon @coin @p @mint IIRC, they couldn't call themselves "open source" because the official open source definition disallows this kind of discrimination.

I wonder how important that was at bringing it to a halt. (I expect it would have dried up naturally eventually.)
