I have to say, the claim that the NSDAP was a left wing party because of the term "Socialist" (tellingly never the term "Arbeiter", since Nazis don't speak foreign languages, so American Nazis cannot actually translate NSDAP) is personally offensive to me as a German. Not just because it's a Nazi dog whistle, but more deeply because of it being so fundamentally wrong. They literally sat on the right side of the Reichstag. Nowhere near the KPD or the SPD.
