maybe it's kind of useless to keep a written record of your opinions – it takes a lot of effort to update, especially if you update often, and it doesn't tell others *that* much (except which beliefs might go well together)

it's probably better to write down novel ideas & analyses and state the assumptions that underlie those, should keep one occupied long enough
