alright seems like a lot of you dont realize this so it needs to be said
i'm using "privilege" here not in the dumb culture war sense wherein it refers to the oppression olympics
but rather as a simple term with analytic utility, w/o all the irritating implications

in its simplest form, "privilege" just means "this is a form of advantage some people have over others that they many not necessarily even realize is a valid dimension of inquiry"
