I'll admit that there's certainly a natural body horror & disgust reaction to hearing about fetal cells being used for commercial applications
but, is there any ethical issue with this sort of thing? it's quite banal and in some senses depressing; artificial coffee creamer blows
the cells in question, however, have absolutely no connection to abortions, besides that their predecessors were likely harvested from a fetus decades ago; the phrasing used is intentionally sensational & evocative, intended to paint a certain picture

this is a core difference btwn the red & gray tribes: their relationship to the disgust response. do you listen to it, treating it as a intuitive moral compass?
the reds would say that it's bugman bs to try & override your intuition, tuned over the eons, w/ conscious reasoning
the grays, however, taking a more Rationalist perspective, would point to the many instances where our intuitions don't quite map to the complexities of modern life; man cannot live by vibes alone
ofc, this is overly reductive, as most of us here are not strictly in either camp
but our various aesthetic sensibilities & subsequent ideological positions do tend to form large coherent clusters, loosely aligning with these labels
