weirdly enough I had this precisely same experience in middle school and it defined my personality for years after

at first I reacted by trying to ignore it, be above it all, pretend like I didn't care, but of course that just made it worse, causing me to mistrust the well meaning teachers who told me to do so, even more than I already did

and similarly, it only stopped when I went apeshit
