Ok, the thing reads like a cold war spy thriller where the happy end is that the Americans won.

The mentioned group sure was a force for good overall, but this is not how a democracy is supposed to work. You don't have the forces of good battle the forces of evil. Instead, a neutral third party ensures a level playing field. This is the only way to separate basic election integrity from any partisan issues.

Time's lack of lucidity regarding this is concerning.
