So, my wife was identified as high IQ (gifted) back in grade school. She has an IQ in the 130s.
Meanwhile, I was overlooked by the system. I'm not sure why, but a variety of possible reasons for this, such as different school systems (I was in California while she was in the Midwest), my grades weren't always stellar in grade school because I got bored, etc.
So maybe my wife is substantially smarter than I am. We can't know without me taking an IQ test.
@urusan do you care enough to spend however much time & money it will cost to take an iq test, with whatever caveats about iq tests you think are relevant?
@urshanabi Well, at the moment I have so much work taking care of a toddler that I barely have time for even normal hobbies, let alone something like this.
Still, it's something that comes up in our conversations from time to time, and maybe once life slows down a bit it might be something I look into more seriously.
Mainly though, I thought it was an interesting question.
