Since everyone is on about this, I'll put in my two cents.

That's more than a year's income for me, and I'm a relatively successful adult with two children.

That's the purchase price of a small house, outside of Silly Valley.

(If you don't know where it's from, don't look. That guys clearly has his own problems, it's just that making rent isn't one of them.)

To clarify: I'm not _mad_, I'm just _gobsmacked_.

My father got a settlement from his boss for being fired improperly. He gave me $5000. (I think the settlement was $30k and it went $5k to each kid, $10k to him, probably paid down the mortgage, knowing him.)

He paid for my college. He bought me and my ex cars. I always thought of myself as lucky.

This is just a whole 'nother level.

My uncle's business went public. He hired a lawyer to give his kids the <you're rich now. No, actually rich. Here's how to defend yourself against grifters> talk.

That's a talk you can hire someone to give your kids.

(Those cousins are all adults, FTR.)

(It's a real business. He was a Doctor. It's not one of those <cabs but with an app that lets me get paid when you work> disruption things, nor a <online service that let's me get acquihired by a FAANG then gets shut down.>)
