another reason why Chopin is better than everyone else is that he doesn't bore you with shit that lasts like 30+ minutes. his music was never intended to be played in music halls in front of big crowds, its super solitary and low key. the best stuff he did he never even released during his life out of contempt for his fans and the public. it packs a punch and doesn't linger and then its gone like a ghost. and his legacy has lasted better than others because there is almost no fat in his output at all, almost everything is gold. whereas Liszt and Beethoven have entire eras of meandering experimental shit that's hard to even know what they were trying to say
