everyone knows english is a privilege, but the extent to which it's a privilege is still underappreciated imo

i've seen what people do to learn languages (including friends from rural areas trying to learn english), i could never do thay shit i don't have nearly enough discipline
i speak english at an advanced level and can do conversational japanese. so unfair it's not even funny
i know so many people that have way more interesting thoughts than me and they simply can't be heard, i made hundreds of friends on twitter in like half a year
i think about this a lot it makes me sad

i have better english than probably 99.99% of indonesians with infinitessimal effort, i just grew up overseas and read a bunch of harry potter books and went on the internet a lot
