If a ruling elite is threatened primarily by its own redundancy, as ours is, its main strategy will be to ensure that technical acumen and the desire for change never coincide in the same group.

"they're infiltrating the institutions aaaa" then why don't you do the same thing huh

"but my values nooooo" values are for dying with. so perish

if you accept that tacit knowledge matters at all then you know you must join their ranks and kill your fellow man to truly understand your enemy, if you want to defeat them

we know that extremely effective people have sociopathic tendecies but won't make the jump and admit that some parts of being a sociopath can make you more effective and it's possible to learn from this

"but then i'll become a bad person noooo" funny bcs i thought you were confident in your goodness, turns out it was only contingent on "doing good things"

if you do not cultivate your own power, you will be forced to delegate it to someone or something else which may not deploy it in a way you find acceptable or useful

You learn more from embedding yourself in an institution and trying to figure out how it works than from doing math on data you don’t understand the context for.

The former kind of knowledge does not spread as well as the latter, since with the latter, trust issues are elided.
