You know, now that I think about it, I can't imagine that much launch mass being dedicated to carrying either weapons or armor for the (presumably) rare event of hand-to-hand combat inside a spaceship. I bet that if such a thing did happen, people would mostly repurpose existing tools.

But I could also imagine a long blunt lightweight stick with a grabber at one end being a useful tool that might happen to be on-hand.

Having read a thread on here concerning the length of time we flew the Shuttle with an (old, heavy) secondary teletype, I'm feeling pretty confident we can find mass in the budget for a 4.5 lb space-naginata on future less mass-constrained vehicles.
