as a previous fedi user i trust this collective net even less but i'm too burnt out to give a crap and have no need for true opsec

@danzaburou I realised a couple of years back that I already had no opsec — I'd said enough in public to paint a target on me — so now I just let my real name stand behind my words, even unto anarchist rants. It's oddly liberating.

@danzaburou
>opsec
I've thought about this a lot and come to the conclusion that there's a reason it's called "operational security." Because keeping secrets and separate identities is mentally taxing, you should think of it as a way to quarantine socially/legally radioactive activities.

"I run a botnet" requires opsec (never tell anyone you know, never hint about who you are). "I post on fedi" does not require opsec.

To mitigate casual observation you can decommission old accounts and create new ones though.

@passenger well put.

i'm just a fucking drugged out crazy and have no chance of competing with organizations that entirely exist on working around these things. if I had any real reason to care I'd power down all my socials and browse everything through a condom
