Reading the "can we haz quote toots" github issue hellthread and getting increasingly annoyed over the assumption of an adversarial environment
I would simply interact on the internet with people I like any who like me and then build features which facilitate that without regard for how someone who hates me would use them.
I'm not sure exactly why me/people around me have relatively so little problems with stuff like QT-dunking. Something about us it meta-hostile.
Hmm, I wonder what happens if I include a link to a post in a reply https://uwu.social/@naia/109366292550238993
Hmm this is a major problem. Assembling threads like this is one of the best things about birdsite :(
Thinking more about my concept doc from a year ago that would allow all this and more! better than twitter! Just need a couple years of free time to build it. https://codeberg.org/sphi/FocalLink/src/branch/main/readme.md
@tess I remember this concept doc and like it-- I wrote a proposal to prototype something similar but for a different context
if it gets funded (or I can get it funded another way) maybe we can collaborate on smth like this...
@lisatomic please do let me know if so! Also ofc feedback welcome on the design/concepts
a Schelling point for those who seek one
