really tho Flowers for Algernon is possibly the best case study for why granting new intelligence to the average person is deeply cruel, especially since chances are they will not be able to truly take advantage of it given their lifestyle momentum

ofc, its completely different when this is consensual, & one opts into the potentially deeply-terrifying realization of how badly they had been wasting their time spinning their wheels previously; but the default path should protect those not ready to face these existential wilds

@pee_zombie its not only that they spin their wheels and that sucks for them. But think also about what the extend of all the consequences of this might be. If they are the majority of the market, then their desire will make it so that i too am living in an environment mainly catering to (imo) "shit taste". And im not just thinking about "oh no, i must use proprietary software and also the cinema sucks", but im thinking about wich burnings and genocide and flogging and bullying etc etc. The way someone witg autism might get ostracised for speaking weirdly, someone with adhd might "get unpopular and become a criminal", all with the big contributing factor that the normie cattle dont wanna think a little further.
@pee_zombie damn, i didnt know about that story. Cool concept.

Anyway. I think it looks like the normie cattle are (well this can easily be misinterpreted) the blocker for all ideologies. A shitty analogy would be trying to setup a schedule and everything to make a school group project nice, but the other guys are either just skipping class or chatting off-topic or starting useless quarrels. Quite a lot of the shitty shit in our markets and social inequality, i think would not be possible without the huge masses of cattle normies.

So i wouldnt care if anyone gets upset and uncomfortable for learning new truths about the world they live in. Or... maybe you were ironic in your OP and i said all of this for nothing.
