a huge whitepill for me was realizing that intelligence is multidimensional, and the much more relevant aspect for the vast majority of situations is skill, not raw potential; this meant that most people could be taught to be smarter!

...after endless attempts to show people how what mattered more than your clock speed was the software you ran, and being rebuffed with claims that this just wasn't possible, that people couldn't change, that I was being offensive for telling them they just needs to try and learn
ofc, there are also those who have potential but not opportunity to harness it, like those resource constrained, for a variety of reasons; be it financial, time, energy, or coercion
but most others are only limiting themselves out of fear
