the goal of society is to help people level up to the point where they need less explicit social assistance, and are able to provide for themselves by using the market. this is what parenting is; limiting the actions of a child until such a time that they become self sufficient
its desirable that no one require assistance, so that we all participate in society as equals
ofc, this is an unreachable limit, but we should strive to approach it asymptomatically
a basic govt option should be provided, but with the understanding that one is to grow past it
