the escape to a digital substrate unlocks much potential for our modalities, our ways of being. so many assumptions based on a physical existence can be released, constraints relaxed. we will become able to explore so much more of state space once we transcend this local maxima
physical injuries? software surgeons will be much more effective. psychiatry? much to be gained visually debugging mental state. cosmetic changes? unlimited.
the digital realm offers us the ability to make much better use of physical space, harnessing it more effectively
however, uploading to a digital existence is not the true eschatology, but just a (critical) intermediary; until heat death is solved, we will remain resource-constrained. computers require materials to build, power to run and maintain against entropy

we'll need to exponentiate our capabilities many times to overcome the challenges before us, reinvent who we are and how we live, down to our very core, until we barely remember what it means to be human. in some ways this is tragic, but it would be a greater tragedy to die out
even with these limits, there are ways to eke out a bit more efficiency, make the most of what I have; but there's only so much I can do. certain limits I cannot exceed while bound to this fleshy body, not optimally designed for communication
