how to escape from this trap? is it even possible, once it's been set? I don't know. but it's clear by how many people complain online anonymously that many more feel this way; the silent majority exists, but needs to be activated somehow.
why stick your neck out by dissenting, when you don't know how many of your neighbors are true believers and will rat you out? better to just play along, someone probably should push back but it doesn't need to be you, you have other problems
