as I grew older I took more of an interest in those around me, as I suddenly found myself wanting to do things which involved others

at which point, I found my path blocked by adults & peers

my solution was always to go around them, as they couldn't be reasoned with, in my view

I never really struggled w/ the things he describes here, as I didn't feel bothered by others disagreements w/ me; I knew I was right and that was all that mattered. I did get in trouble often, but didn't understand why and didn't care, either

this became more of a problem in hs

i am now thinking about the infamous immortal snail meme - how difficult would it be to escape from the snail without doing anything special in your everyday life?

i dont know what the answer is yet, but i do know that i'm gonna do a whole bunch of math and thinking about it 🧵

many people find it difficult to grok cellular automata, specifically how complexity and richness of behavior can emerge from the iterated interactions of very simple rules. neural nets, being overgrown CA with exotic neighborhoods, are equally confusing to many.

Modern neural networks are probably more complicated than the linux kernel. Why should we expect explanations to be simple?

I've always felt like I can't think properly sitting still; my thoughts get stale, occupying the same volume of space. having sucked the novelty marrow from it, I need to relocate to think straight.

The internet is supposed to contain the collective knowledge of mankind but you can’t find basic shit on it. I’m trying to find out how I can change the background color on pages. All the information is out of date. The tutorial on Apple’s own website? two years out of date.
