Not gonna lie, it is not easy to post every day even if you make it a goal.

I don't understand how some people manage to toot/tweet 30+ times in a day - looking at people like @noahpinion, @mattyglesias who have over 100k tweets.

Granted, it's over 10 years but the consistency at which they spew their hot takes is still something to behold, even if the snr is low. It takes a certain shamelessness and perseverance to keep saying things even when no one appears to be listening.

@taroball Have you found it positive, overall? I've been trying to self-censor less, but haven't made the point of making it a deliberate daily habit/practice.

@meanderingexile it is nice to have a release valve for some of my thoughts. I've also found it quite good for sharpening ideas - the process of writing it all down and chiseling the words to fit in tweets/toots for clarity and precision also cannot be overstated.

Unfortunately, I think this is best suited for when you're still unsure of where you stand on topics and are trying to reason out loud. This necessarily means posting half baked thoughts, which I am still not quite ready to do.

@taroball Yeah, I know what you mean! I'm wary of throwing out ideas, both because I haven't thought them through enough, and because it still feels strange suddenly spewing my thoughts on some random topic into the void.

Overall, though, I've always been glad when I did- as you said, it did wonders for clarifying/crystalizing those thoughts. I might try to think of this place as a little more of a journal/commonplace book, albeit a public one.
