It is commonly accepted that Y2K was not a major issue _because_ people worked so hard on it ahead of time.
By analogy, something can be said to have been a Y2K when huge efforts are spent, but no crisis occurs.
@WomanCorn Well, the people who spend a lot of money on Y2K are definitely not going to say it was for nothing. And neither will the ones who received it.
The hard part is knowing when you prevented a crisis, and when you just wasted your time.
You only get to see one timeline, which makes this hard.
