SpaceX is talking about variants of the Starship for different missions--cargo, passenger, tanker, lunar lander.

What we really need down the line is a Starship version of the Traveller modular cutter, so you can show up with your module and have it launched.

I'm listening to the audiobook of The Martian. Just SpaceX's capability now totally trashes the plot.

"Sure, we'll bump StarLink launches to do an extra Falcon Heavy. And we'll schedule a back up Falcon Heavy in case there's a problem. Watney will get all the food he needs."

The difference in medical student performance when graphed by Kinsey score implies that you should, under no circumstances, be heterodox.

Having been demolishing things again now the weather has turned, I find myself wondering if pry bars also serve as a universal permission, in the same fashion as patch cables, when accompanied by a sufficiently done-with-this-shit expression.

...what if I had both?

Today I learned that UN food standards are published as the Codex Alimentarius, which really sounds like something that came out of the Vatican or WH40K.

Still, I applaud their commitment to a proper language.

Shorter Duverger's Law:

We get dumb outcomes because we do dumb things because we assume everyone else will also do dumb things.

Which, to be fair, they do.

Okay, that's actually longer. Ahem.

Today I have heard the term "the Devil's lettuce" for the first time.

Man, if I were a grower, I would name all my strains after progressively sillier snowclones. The Devil's Lettuce. Satan's Cabbage. Lucifer's Cauliflower. Beelzebub's Cumin.

I mean, it would be nice just to be able to say, y'know, hi, guys, thanks for all your hard work, keep it up, m'kay?

Does it ever bother you that you will probably live and die without ever seeing your organs? (Skin aside, obviously.)

...I will not learn how to mod just to quench this earworm, dammit.

There is a star system in named "Ginagan".

I mention this because for the last hour or two my brain has been trying to tell me about the seven stranded castaways there and their uncharted desert... planet.
