@niplav nice -- digging into this later today. Full disclosure: I'm a bit worried by 'being smart is more important than being good', though :)

@flancian it's not a complete description, but I think I mostly endorse this (though that hinges on a belief that most people want to be at least a bit good, and want to avoid being bad at reasonably high cost, many positive sum trades are left on the ground due to irrationality and actively bad people are rare)

@flancian but also, it's easier to convince people that they want become smart than to convince them to become more moral

@niplav Hey, now I know what links to post if someone asks me to explain my political ideology
@niplav wasn't arrhenius that son of a gun who invented acids and bases and shit

@Erik yes, but there's (as far as I can see) no connection, he had a son Gustaf Arrhenius but that one isn't the one I cite in the article: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Svante_A

@niplav damn. Shame. I want to spread the rumor that the last long bow shot kill was done by Winston Churchill's father, because the guy who killed the last time during a war with a bow during WW1 was also named Churchill.

Shame they are not related. It would've fit so nicely.
