the thing movies like Moana and Frozen get wrong is that they think that just because nobody involved is evil, that means they're preferences and values must align

princess mononoke, meanwhile, manages to make you sympathetic to just about every faction except maybe lord asano's

and I guess the emperor's men and the hunters in general aren't very cool, but jigo as their leader is interesting enough to make up for that

also it's absolutely wild that a movie made by a studio primarily known for their children's movies and wholesome vibe has better action scenes than I've seen in basically any action movie ever
