seems like masto doesn't allow for configurable ratelimits, i am pretty annoyed by this. would change it myself but I don't know ruby nor do i want to learn. desire to port to java increases
@rip_imho ruby is great! just not for me. i was also rather surprised when i found out
@pee_zombie yeah to clarify it wasn’t a dunk on ruby per se, more like on how likely I or someone I know is to be familiar with it. Meanwhile, Pleroma uses Elixir.. which could be even more obscure
@rip_imho yeah i feel you. elixir is Cool but i'm not really tryna innovate in runtime or language here. i get the impulse to use cool tools but... oftentimes boring old tools are best, esp if tryna get a broader contributor base
