they were the few weirdos who I'd meet at a party. I often felt like they had this yearning for the kind of connection and intimacy that I also wanted. They were also like kinda nerdy and often well-read too.

I think for me there's a pretty clear line between people who I can get along with (most people) and people who don't exhaust me (sufficiently quickly) socially (very few people).

ok my one complaint with mastodon is that "liking" something is called "favouriting" it. favourite's are defined in reference to other things, not everything i like can be my favourite.

i like "boost" though, that feels more accurate.
