@pee_zombie @dagon Bluesky is supposed to be prepared to deal with exactly thus use case, but it's not clear how reliable non-bsky PDSs are.

It also has its own issues that aren't clear if they're solvable or not.

Exciting developments over there.

"How does AI impact my job as a programmer?": chelseatroy.com/2024/05/26/how

This is a brilliant piece told from the perspective of a Computer Science teacher.

It really hits in all the right places and mirrors a lot of my issues.

I appreciate the pragmatic approach of not fighting but letting folks see how it fails on interesting problems.

The article does not hesitant to point the finger back at the programming culture itself.

@futurebird they have their whole own history with separate social and legislative successes and failures.

Environmentalism has a long history of globalism: everyone is at risk from a dying planet.

Woke additions to that, like <seas rise, minorities hardest hit> are a new thing, and certainly post-dated banning DDT and saving the bald eagle

If AI was really as good at satisfying literary whims as some claim, I would even now be holding in my hands a copy of Shakespeare's _þe Lamentable Tragedie of Saruman þe White_.

The reason why catgirls dislike Java, is because they have vertical pupils, and thus need to rotate their head 90 degrees to take in the long class names.

@Hyolobrika I think the point of splitting off the PDS is that the accounts are cryptographicly validated repositories, which means you can move your account to a different PDS.

That should solve the <oops, my server shut down> problem that fedi has.

Unclear what the other bits do.

@Hyolobrika

People also bitched that it took all of a couple hours for the account to get banned

@mcc

huh. I thought the LLMs were already trained on StackOverflow.

It's available under some kind of public license, I think. There are a bunch of clone page out there, anyway.
