so what i had in mind here was, ppl who picked sincerity are probably the kind that dislike @visakanv, and ppl who picked sarcasm probably dislike @eigenrobot
a bunch of ppl hate them both for reasons i think i kind of understand(?) but idk where they'd fit on the poll. also most ppl around here seem to like them or are just indifferent. but anyways
i picked those two guys in particular not to point at *them* specifically but in trying to gesture at two archetypes (sincere & sarcastic) that i hope can resonate
generally i'm observing that the really sincere/earnest and the really sarcastic/cynical do not get along. also they will probably think rather lowly of each other
naivety = sincerity but i don't like it cynicism = sarcasm but i don't like it
--- RT @amirism_ generally when there are different words for a similar thing with opposite (good and bad) connotations, is it just a way to apply a normative judgment to the same thing? https://twitter.com/amirism_/status/1389581472009318400
so to get to the bottom of this, the other day i was listening to eigen's podcast episode with visa and it struck me that i'd put them as representatives of these totally opposite archetypes in my mind, and it was oddly satisfying to hear them just get along with each other
notably,
naivety = sincerity but i don't like it
cynicism = sarcasm but i don't like it
