idc that much about ethics i just wanna know if it *would* be, hypothetically
presumably they didn't want *me* to see it but they did post it right 🤔
it's true that some of the best tweets are the instadeleted ones
considering starting a practice of screenshotting and keeping them in a folder just for me

my favorite tweets are the ones that are instantly retracted. I catch someone saying something they know is forbidden, too honest, too incendiary, too much from the heart.
I try to like it, but it disappears, "that tweet has been deleted"
But I saw it, it was just …

is it really an insight if it doesn't fit into less than 280 characters

@AskYatharth illegibility, specifically on the internet, is what cues the non-verbal communication in action that would otherwise can only happen physically irl. it’s vibing online
the same thing happens in writing that may be easier to see - just because you know a language grammatically and have the common vocab doesnt mean you can WRITE GOOD
and the reason for this, it would seem, is that the *way* to speak well differs A LOT from one language to another
this may be obvious but i literally just realized this. i thought there was a universal formula or smth!! lmao NO
i figured out that there is a way to be a charismatic and effective speaker and i've learned it some degree. but it turns out i only know how to do that in ONE language
this is especially frustrating to realize because i've always had problems with communication, and i've actually done a lot of work in trying to improving the way i talk to people
it seems like there's a sort of charisma that one can draw from in both speaking and writing that are each their separate arts; and training one does not perfectly translate to training the other

@amirism_ Heard a theory suggesting that literacy is a seperate language from the spoken one
This is *very* clear with arabic. Dialects vs. Fusha. Arabic script vs franco (english keyboard)

meanwhile when e.g. i'm doing a video call in english, the words that come into my mind feel totally inadequate in conveying what im trying to say

i've been writing a big final report for college and i really feel thoughts coming out and taking the form of english words which i have to painstakingly translate into clunky indonesian;
the *reason* it bothers me in particular tho is that i've been noticing just how much the inferior parts (spoken english and written indonesian) restrict me in expressing myself the way i want
obviously this is because ive been living in indonesia for the past decade while spending a lot of time on the english-speaking internet

@amirism_ Why is it bothering you and do you have any ideas about the cause/s for this difference?

so here's a thing about my capacity for self expression
my written english > indonesian, but
my spoken indonesian > english
this is bothering me
doing something else
