Searching users is not that hard, but there are options which can be confusing.

1- You can put the full address on the search bar (.social seems to be with heavy load so it takes a while sometimes).

2- Or just search the user handle and the system will try to get all the occurrences in the federated universe.

3- And you can also search by user's display name.

I don't want to over-populate my timeline with birdsite news, but I think it's *fascinating* how a famous and competent Android engineer got fired yesterday for being called out in public by Elon Musk in public and then giving really coherent answers.

The response boils down to, "Perf is a feature with clear value, but we neglect it for new site features no one uses."

This is *obviously* not what Musk wants to hear, even if it's a ridiculously obvious and common story.

So... I know, I know the common wisdom says "the algorithm" is bad. But, quite frequently "the algorithm" is pretty good in recommending stuff I want to see that I would otherwise miss.

Is anyone working on a good algorithm for Mastodon?
